Default Edge Type
The Default Edge Type options allow you to specify the global ExactFlat default seam, hem, and bound edge types. These values are copied to a part file’s document properties upon conversion to ExactFlat.
Default Notch Chain
The Default Notch Chain options allow you to specify the global ExactFlat default notch chain type and parameters. These values are copied to the part file’s document properties upon conversion to ExactFlat.
These values are used when creating sketches for use with ExactFlat (hardware, markings, etc.). ExactFlat will convert all input curves to polylines for use with ExactFlat. The Chord Tolerance is the maximum allowed distance from the midpoint of each segment in the polyline to the original curve. The Minimum Line Length is the minimum allowed length of each polyline segment.
The symbol parameters control the size of the notch symbols used in ExactFlat drawings.
The Default Grain Line Mode controls how the default grain line is applied to each pattern piece. It is important to note adding a manual grain line using ExactFlat’s grain line tool will override these settings.
Use Initial Horizontal Axis will assign the horizontal X axis as the grain line upon conversion to ExactFlat. The grain line will rotate with the piece as the pattern piece is moved and rotated in the ExactFlat pattern view.
Use Current Horizontal Axis will always assign the horizontal X axis as the grain line. The grain line does NOT rotate with the pattern piece as it is moved and rotated in ExactFlat. The grain line will ALWAYS be the horizontal X axis, no matter it’s orientation in ExactFlat’s pattern view.
When using manual grain lines, the grain line is represented as a half arrow. Arrow Size X1, X2, and X3
all controls the shape and size of the half arrow.
Default Edge Labels
Auto-Create Edge Labels will turn on or off the addition of edge labels to all newly created seams. When turned on, all default edge label definitions will be automatically added to the newly created seam.
Export Pattern to Part
Show Settings Dialogue will turn on or off the export pattern to part dialogue and controls. If turned off, the last used settings will be applied to the current part when exporting.
Export File Name Suffix allows you to customize the suffix applied to each part when exported. Exported parts require a unique file name.
